Over time, especially after being packed away, tutu-wearing fairies—particularly those with festive designs—can become slightly ruffled. To keep them looking their best, follow these simple yearly care instructions after unpacking. A little care goes a long way in preserving their delicate charm!
To refresh your fairy’s tutu, start by gently combing the wool with a felting needle if you have one. No worries if you don’t—a sewing needle or a similar tool works just as well!
Begin about a centimetre from the waistband and carefully comb outward toward the tutu’s edge. Repeat the process multiple times until the fibres regain their soft, airy shape. A little care will keep your fairy looking as magical as ever
As you comb through the wool, you’ll start to see it straightening out and looking tidy again. You may notice a few loose fibers being pulled free during the process—don’t worry, that’s completely normal! Just keep going, and soon your fairy’s tutu will be beautifully refreshed and ready to shine once more.
Once you’ve finished combing a section of the tutu to your satisfaction, gently pull away any loose fibers. If you prefer, you can also carefully trim the excess fibers with scissors for a neater finish. Either method will help keep your fairy’s tutu looking flawless and beautifully maintained!
